The meditation pavilion was designed and built by 25 undergrad students as a part of design-build studio at the University of Toronto. We designed the structure collaboratively through sketches and Rhino models in one week. Construction was completely in house and completed within one week as well. There was a strong emphasis on constructability and portability in the design. The resulting structure can be easily disassembled into 17 sections, allowing Lululemon to transport the structure to various touring venues across North America. The sections interlock into one another using a tongue and groove system. Pieces within the sections use a waffle-shell joinery system.
